    Product Customisation on Zazzle: Explained

    What is Product "Customisation"?

When a creator lists a product for sale on Zazzle, they can choose whether or not to allow buyers to customise the design. This choice must be made when the product is posted and cannot be changed later.

👉We recommend enabling customisation, as it allows customers to personalise their purchase within the design tool, increasing the likelihood of a sale.

    👌What Can Customers Customise?

If a product has customisation enabled, customers can:
    ✔️ Remove text and images
✔️ Resize, rotate, or move images
✔️ Edit text (change size, colour, font, orientation, or placement)
✔️ Rearrange design layers (adjust what appears in front or behind)
✔️ Add new text or images

    What Can’t Be Customized?

❌ Customers cannot download or directly edit the original image file
❌ Designs cannot be transferred to a different product type (this setting can be set in your Stores Advanced Settings.)

🚫What Happens If Customisation is Disabled?

If the creator does not allow customisation:

    • The "Personalize this design” and/or “Edit this design" buttons will not appear on the product page.
    • Customers cannot edit the design within the design tool.
    • Customers cannot transfer a Design to another product. (regardless of preference in Advance settings)
    • The creator can still edit their own design at any time for personal or custom design requests.

Add here where they can find the customisation button:

    Customisation vs. Product Options

Even if customisation is disabled, customers can usually still change the product itself (e.g., colour, style, or size), unless the creator has restricted these options. See more on how you can restrict Style control, here
