What can Product Edit do for me?
This tool was developed to assist creators in refining design details on their existing products. This includes making small text updates, adjusting minor design elements, and even adding new templates to enhance the customer experience.
However, with this powerful tool comes the responsibility to use it judiciously. To ensure its availability on an ongoing basis, access is carefully managed based on the needs of the Creator Community. It’s crucial to understand that overuse could significantly impact our Content team, so it’s everyone’s responsibility to use it only when necessary.
Do’s and Don’ts of Product Edit
✅ DO Correct safe line, cut off text and border issues
✅ DO Add/edit templates for existing products in the Marketplace to optimize for Customers.
✅ DO update dates (including images) for products like calendars, save the dates, invitations and seasonal products like New Years/Holiday announcements.
✅ DO Correct spelling and grammar mistakes
✅ DO Submit only necessary changes
🚫 DON’T make significant design changes that will make the product unrecognizable (to a repeat/existing customer). These will be rejected. If this is necessary, a new product should be created.
🚫 DON’T Submit an edit if no changes were actually made or your original product has zero views and/or sales. These products can simply be re-published and the old one deleted.
🚫 DON’T Use replace product for metadata, titles, tags, descriptions and changing a products merchandising style (this can be done without using the feature under “edit details” on product page when logged into store.
Got it. So how do I submit an edit?
- Navigate to the product page and make your edits in the design tool.
- Once you’re happy with your changes, click "Done" to bring you back to the product page.
- To submit, click on the ‘replace product’ option which will now appear with the "edit" and "sell it" options. You will be shown 2 confirmation pages to review your actions.
- Once you click ‘submit revision’, your design is now in review by the content team. This can take from 30 mins to 5 days, depending on the volume of submissions.
You can confirm your submission was successful once you see the below mask showing over your Product image.
